Treatment Options

Minimally Invasive Hip Replacement

With techniques like minimally invasive hip surgery, many hip injuries can be diagnosed and treated with brief inpatient surgeries, allowing patients to return to their activities. During a minimally invasive hip replacement procedure, the joint is replaced with a prosthesis through an incision that is only 3 to 4 inches long. As a result, not as many muscles and tendons in the hip area are disturbed. Patients who undergo this procedure typically experience a shorter hospital stay, faster recovery, and less scarring.

Minimally Invasive Knee Replacement

The minimally invasive knee replacement surgery is performed through smaller incisions rather than the larger 8-12-inch incision required for the standard surgical technique. Because the incision is smaller, not as many muscles and tendons are disrupted. Like other minimally invasive surgeries, patients who undergo this type of surgery experience an increased range of motion sooner after surgery, less blood loss during surgery, faster recovery and a shorter hospital stay.
