Prenatal Classes and Tours
A variety of programs are available for expectant mothers and their families.
Prenatal program - Westlake Hospital’s prenatal program is led by a childbirth educator and prepares expectant parents for childbirth. The program is designed to explain the process of labor and delivery, give advice on pain management and answer questions about what to expect during labor. It also includes breathing and relaxation exercises, post-partum care information, infant child safety tips and a tour of The Family Birthplace. Classes are offered in English and Spanish.
Breastfeeding class - Breastfeeding classes, led by a certified lactation consultant are geared to educate new mothers about the benefits of breastfeeding and also can serve as a refresher for mothers who have previously breastfed.
