Substance Abuse

New Vision Medical Stabilization

The use and abuse of alcohol and/or other chemicals can disrupt a person’s life in many ways. Loss of a job, breakup of marriages and families, loss of self-esteem, and even loss of life can result from the continued abuse of substances without proper treatment. However, with stabilization, and ongoing desire to remain free of the burden of substance use, many individuals can resume and maintain healthy lifestyles.

Let today be the first day of your commitment to a new tomorrow…to a new year. Substance abuse and dependency don’t have to be your way of life. Imagine yourself to be a new, different person and then make it so.

Who is a candidate for treatment?

Westlake Hospital’s New Vision service is a hospital-based chemical dependency service for adults with drug, alcohol and health related problems. The service treats adults above the age of 18 who are chemically dependent or are suffering incapacitation due to the effects of drugs, alcohol or acute withdrawal symptoms.

Inpatient Stabilization

The service begins with a medically supervised hospital stay for the inpatient treatment phase, which typically lasts three days. Upon admission, initial assessments of the patient’s fundamental needs are accomplished. These assessments include a medical history, physical, a complete laboratory workup and a nursing assessment.

After Discharge

Discharge planning will be done prior to leaving the hospital. The patient will be referred to appropriate community-based aftercare programs. The goal of these support groups is to blend education for all patients regarding chemical dependency with practical methodologies to prevent relapse. Intake Coordinators will contact each patient monthly for up to three months.

The Medical Team

New Visions is staffed by highly trained medical professionals dedicated to your care and your recovery. Our Medical Director and nursing staff utilize their training and experience to insure that each person receives the attention necessary for safe medical stabilization in the hospital.

Payment Accepted

Medicare, Medicaid, insurance and most managed care plans are accepted.
